About

Sandra Pike’s relationship with photography began in Osaka, Japan, when she was gifted her first Canon EOS. She began to learn about composition, color and how to communicate visually. At the same time, she started her career in publishing, and her image making became paired with her apprenticeship in the interplay of book design, content and visuals.

Through a 25-year, distinguished publishing career in Japan, Hong Kong and now New York, Sandra has brought a multidisciplinary, 360-degree perspective to the art of visual storytelling. She has created fine art photography throughout, with individual works published in books and magazines and exhibited across multiple continents, as well as a short film shortlisted at a Canadian International Women’s Film and Video Festival.

Sandra serves as a Board Member of the National Gallery of Canada Foundation, and a Director of the American Friends of the National Gallery of Canada Foundation. In these roles, she promotes the knowledge and understanding of Canadian art and culture in the U.S.

A lifelong learner, she also studies fine art photography at Rhode Island School of Design. A colleague recommended her work as “inescapably musical or cinematic … gentle, haunting and elegant, with a depth that rewards effort and interest.”
